You can find in this video and in this article :

- The main olugo-elements and minerals of oat flakes

- The beta-glucans (soluble fibers of oat flakes)

- Oat flakes and insoluble fibers

- Oat flakes, essential amino acids and proteins

- Oat flakes and gluten

First of all, you should know that oats are rich in vitamins of the B and E group as well as in trace elements and minerals such as phosphorus (P), manganese (Mn), magnesium (Mg), selenium (Se) and iron (Fe).

It is very beneficial for the health of bones and teeth, the formation of proteins, the proper functioning of the nervous, digestive and immune systems as well as the regulation of the pH (measure of acidity) within our body.

The selenium present in oats helps to fight against the formation of free radicals. It also plays a role in the activation of thyroid hormones.

The free radicals are very reactive molecules which cause harmful reactions in the various cells. This favors the acceleration of their aging and their destruction

It is interesting to know that oats contain an important quantity of beta-glucan, which are soluble fibers.

These fibers reduce the absorption of cholesterol and increase its elimination in the stools. This helps to fight against cardiovascular diseases. They also reduce the absorption of glucose (sugar), they regulate the glycemia (glucose level in the blood) and the insulin level (hormone released by the pancreas, its function is to bring blood glucose to the cells).

The consumption of this cereal is recommended for people who suffer from type 2 diabetes.

Oats also contain insoluble fibers, which facilitate intestinal transit and fight against constipation. They promote the feeling of satiety (the person is no longer hungry), they are very useful for losing weight.

Regular consumption of these fibers helps to fight against the risk of certain types of cancer such as colon cancer.

It is important to know that the consumption of cereals is very useful for our body. These foods are at the base of the food pyramid. We must therefore include them in our diet.

However, you should know that whole grains are richer in fiber and provide more benefits to our body. They improve digestion, facilitate intestinal transit and reduce our calorie intake.

The disadvantage of whole grains is their pesticide content, so it is preferable to consume organic products whenever possible, of course.

Oats are known for their high protein content. Indeed, its proteins are made up of essential amino acids, these are amino acids that cannot be produced within our body, we must provide them via our diet.

I would like to draw your attention to the fact that eating only cereals is not enough to meet the needs of our body in amino acids and proteins, it must be supplemented with meat and / or eggs and legumes such as chickpeas, kidney beans, ...

Finally, I would like to inform you that oats can contain gluten (proteins that can cause complications in people suffering from gluten intolerance called celiac disease).
